About Us

There are 2 important grinds in our lives. First, the grinding hard work we do for our families each day, and the other, our coffee beans. As working parents with two young children in these unprecedented times, we know waking up to a fresh, smooth, and affordable steamy cup of coffee is more needed and appreciated than ever before.

Mad Press Coffee was named after our kids, Madison and Preston. Coincidentally, a hella mad coffee press also came to mind -  When we press something, we are trying to ‘smooth, iron, and push it down’, and “Mad” being the madness and chaos in our crazy lives. We want to share our love of gourmet coffee with all the hustlers out there that face the same kind of madness. We feel you! We also believe a bit of fun madness is good for you - whether it be surfing, snowboarding, exploring the world, or playing in a rock band.

We care about creating a more sustainable world to protect nature and improve the lives of farmers and forest communities. Our coffees are certified by Fair Trade, USDA Organic, and the Rain Forest Alliance.

We've carefully selected the finest hand-picked coffees from our trusted farmers around the globe. Our hand-crafted approach means that we consider the unique flavor profile of each bean and roast in small batches in order to unlock their full flavor potential. This means we can provide the fresh-tasting coffee that large, commercial suppliers can't. Our roasted coffees are not sitting in warehouses or distribution centres.

Our coffees are the highest quality Arabica beans. Only 5% of the coffees produced in the world qualify for our customers. We adhere to every high standard of the Specialty Coffee Association.

Our disciplined small batch roasting process maintains the integrity of the individual bean, allowing the coffee to invigorate the mind, body and spirit and help you press out the madness in your every day life. We focus on tasting notes that are more suitable for all types of drinkers that just need good "every day" coffee. 

We have brought North Carolina's most beloved signature coffee roasting recipes to Canada - from Carolina Roasting Company and Green Joes, our family-owned coffee businesses and flagship of Mad Press Coffee. We grew up in the Hawaiian culture and with our family and partners in Hawaii, we are now able to offer Hawaiian goods to our Canadians.
